Sometimes a special piece of jewelry has been in a box for years. An heirloom from family, an old wedding ring or a piece of jewelry with a story. It has emotional value, but may no longer fit who you are today.
In Burgant’s workshop, we give such jewelry a new life. Melting down old gold, remodeling existing jewelry or reworking gemstones creates a new design with the same meaning.
This preserves the memory, but gives the jewelry a form that can be worn again.

During a personal conversation, we will discuss your story and the memory you want to capture in a piece of jewelry.

Based on your wishes, we create a design in which existing materials, symbolism or heirlooms are given a new form.

The jewelry is made with care and craftsmanship in our own workshop.

Make the jewelry even more personal
With memory jewelry, story often plays a big role. Therefore, an engraving can add a special element to the design.
Consider a date in family history, a place that has great meaning, a handwritten message or a symbol that has been passed down for generations.
Using modern laser engraving, even handwriting, drawings or small details from an existing piece of jewelry can be recreated in the design.
This creates a piece of jewelry in which not only the material but also the story is passed on.

Can I turn in (old) gold and/or silver as payment?
We are not a gold or silver business and therefore do not buy loose gold or silver. However, you can turn in gold and/or silver as (partial) payment when you become our customer and have a piece of jewelry made or altered.
Can I have (old) silver remelted into new jewelry?
Yes, you can.
To save costs, this is not a good choice: buying new silver is cheaper than melting it down and reprocessing it.
For emotional value, on the contrary, it is a nice solution. The process is similar to gold.
Do you also repair jewelry?
We are not a repair shop and do not repair jewelry purchased elsewhere, such as broken necklaces or making production rings larger/smaller. We recommend that these be repaired where they were purchased.
Jewelry with emotional value that meets the legal gold content, we do gladly re-make or melt into new jewelry. “The story continues.”
