Burgant is a family business located in picturesque Annen, North Drenthe, just 20 minutes from the city of Groningen. With over 35 years of experience, we design and manufacture platinum, gold and silver jewelry with gemstones. Every piece is unique. Every piece has a story.

Our Story
A life full of passion for craft
From an early age, Margriet’s life was set: working with her hands, drawing, crafting and creating. Driven by an unquenchable passion for jewelry and encouraged to follow her heart, this path led to the renowned vocational school Burg. Atenschool in Schoonhoven. There she specialized in the design and manufacture of precious metal jewelry.
After years of working experience as a gold- and silversmith, including at Zilverstad silver factory and court supplier Niekerk, Margriet opened her own studio in Noordbroek in 2008. Goldsmith Margriet was born.
In 2016, the online store Margriet Jewels was added, with its own collections. Since 2018 we have been working from our studio in Annen.
In the years since, the company has increasingly transformed into a family business, so a name change was inevitable. As of 2026, Goldsmith Margriet will continue as Burgant.
The name has changed but our mission has not: to make jewelry with your story.

What once began as Goldsmith Margriet has grown into a true family business. The arrival of Bram has added new energy and knowledge to the team. Together we combine decades of experience with fresh insights and modern techniques, to create jewelry that is timeless and meaningful.
In addition to traditional forging, we work with modern techniques such as laser engraving and 3D design, which we perform entirely in-house. This makes even more possible, we monitor quality from start to finish and accurately translate your wishes into the final result.

Milestones
Early 1990s
Education at the Burg. Atenschool, Schoonhoven
Specialization in the design and forging of precious metal jewelry at the distinguished trade school of silversmithing.
1990s – 2007
Work experience at Zilverstad and court supplier Niekerk
Years of practical experience as a gold and silversmith with leading companies in the industry. Made hundreds of pieces of jewelry, honed every craftsmanship.
From 2008- 2025
Establishment of Goldsmith Margriet
Start of own studio in Noordbroek and since 2018 in picturesque Annen, North Drenthe. A place where craftsmanship, passion and personal contact come together.
Since 2026
Burgant: A family business that will still be around 100 years from now.
With two generations, Burgant combines decades of experience in silversmithing with modern techniques and a personal approach that makes each piece of jewelry special.

Our master sign
Every piece of jewelry we manufacture is stamped with our registered master mark. This unique responsibility sign is required by law and guarantees the authenticity and quality of each piece. Every gold and silversmith in the Netherlands is obliged to apply this sign before presenting the jewelry for inspection by the Waarborg.
Member of the Gold and Silver Federation
Burgant is a member of the Gold and Silver Federation (FGZ) and works exclusively with sustainably sourced precious metals. Membership in the FGZ guarantees that we adhere to strict rules of quality and conduct. In case of a complaint, you can contact the mediation department of the FGZ Disputes Committee, to which our workshop is affiliated.
