Materials we work with
The basis of every piece of jewelry
In our workshop we work with high-quality precious metals such as gold, silver, platinum and various gemstones. Each material has its own look, character and possibilities.
Our Craft
Craftsmanship begins with the right material
The choice of material determines not only the look of a piece of jewelry, but also its durability and wearability.
In Burgant’s studio, we work with carefully selected materials and gemstones. We also often incorporate existing jewelry, heirlooms or old gold into a new design.
This creates a piece of jewelry that is not only beautiful, but also carries personal meaning.
The foundation of any design
From idea to detail
Design & visualization
Before the first cut, the design begins to come to life. Sketches and digital 3d modeling allow us to explore shapes and details in advance.
This will give you a good idea of the design before the jewelry is actually made.
Making process
The sketch comes to life, because we will actually make the jewelry. During this process we manufacture the jewelry using different techniques. Through photos and videos we will keep you informed about this.
Setting & finishing
The final step is setting gemstones, refining the jewelry with engravings and details, and the final careful finishing touches. Then comes the delivery: a special moment when your jewelry truly comes to life.
Our passion
Working with gemstones
The addition of gemstones to a piece of jewelry is the finishing touch. Purchasing gemstones and being allowed to work with gemstones brought by the customer himself really gives us goosebumps.
A stone can touch us and its unique characteristics can trigger different emotions in us.
The beauty, the rarity; gemstones are amazing creations of nature. To gemstones you do not add anything, they are beautiful by themselves, beautiful as they are. ‘Naturally beautiful and pure’ I always say.
Our Craft
Setting & finishing
The choice of material forms the basis of any design. Precious metals and gemstones together determine the look, durability and feel of a piece of jewelry.
In our workshop, we combine traditional goldsmith craftsmanship with modern techniques. This allows us to realize both classic and contemporary designs.
Much jewelry is created from a combination of new material and existing elements, such as old gold or gemstones from family jewelry.
What we work with
Materials & stones
From diamonds to saltwater pearls, the material determines the character of each piece of jewelry.
Here are some of the most frequently chosen
Diamond
Diamonds, often cut in brilliant form, are known for their exceptional brilliance. Because of its hardness and clarity, diamond is a popular stone for engagement and wedding rings.
Sapphire
Sapphires come in a variety of colors, but are mainly recognized by their deep blue hue. The stone symbolizes fidelity, wisdom and durability.
Emerald
Emeralds stand out for their rich green color. Each stone has small natural features that contribute to its unique appearance.
Ruby
Rubies are known for their intense red color. This gemstone is often associated with love, strength and passion.
Pearl
Pearls are known for their soft luster and timeless elegance. They come in different varieties, such as freshwater pearls and saltwater pearls, each with its own look, shape and character. There are also natural pearls and cultured pearls. In jewelry nowadays, cultured pearls are almost always used, which are still real and created naturally in a shell.
Platinum 950-1000
Platinum is a special precious metal with a natural white color, great durability and exclusive appearance.
In our workshop, we work with 950/1000 platinum, a high-quality alloy well suited for timeless jewelry with lasting value.
Gold 14,18 & 22 carats
Gold is the most commonly used precious metal for jewelry. It is durable, valuable and easy to work with.
In our workshop we work with different gold colors such as yellow gold, white gold and rose gold. Old gold can also be melted down and reworked into a new design.
Silver 925
Silver has a fresh white color and is great for sophisticated jewelry. It can be beautifully combined with gemstones or other metals. Because silver is softer than gold and platinum and oxidizes over time, it is less expensive and therefore often a more accessible precious metal.
A piece of jewelry starts with the right material
During a personal conversation in our workshop we will be happy to show you different materials and examples.
Together we will look at which combination best suits your idea and the design of the jewelry.
